Sad the city keeps nickel and dimming us to death!

The rural communities voting overwhelmingly against more taxes.

It is a shame that a concentration of apartment dwellers and government employees in the cities have to force those in the less populated areas in the country to live under higher tax burdens that they don't want or need. These are more independent people, farmers and the like that tend to believe that more government is not the solution for every problem.

Sounds a little like the electoral college arguments we hear.

I have no data to back it up, but I doubt the apartment dwellers are swinging the election. From my experience in voter registration efforts, apartment residents are least likely to be registered to vote and least likely to vote. So all that concentration of population is surprisingly ineffective at the ballot box.

If there is a common apartment resident demographic, I'm not sure they're pro-tax.
