A performer from Ring of Steel performs in the Fire Show Friday night at the Saline Celtic Festival at Mill Pond Park.

The Saline Celtic Festival rocked into action with "pub night" at Mill Pond Park Friday night.

The festival opened with dance, singing, drum, and flute workshops.

Guests sampled food and craft beer as they walked the grassy pasture on a warm, sunny late afternoon at the park. The action picked up around 8 p.m., when Crossbow took the stage and pumped up the crowd under the Red Dragon tent.

Several vendors opened, selling everything from wooden whistles and Irish soda bread, to kilts, family crests and daggers. The Ring of Steel troop also opened "bunny fencing" to the public, which didn't go so well for one young man.

After Brother Crow finished, the Mr. Pretty Legs contest took the stage. (Click here for video and gallery).

Next came The Kreellers - who kicked off their reunion tour with set that bounced from rock, to Irish hymnals, to stomping punk romps.

Pub night finished with another exhilarating fire show by Ann Arbor's Ring of Steel troop, who twirled, swallowed, and hoola-hooped flames in front of an appreciative crowd.
