The Hornets won every single event in their season opening victory over Ypsilanti.


The Saline Hornets wrestling team celebrated senior night Thursday by pinning down Pioneer and Lincoln.

Saline defeated Pioneer, 50-13, and bested Lincoln, 59-16.

Against Pioneer Kyle Boxeth (112) won 5-3, Taylor Ticknor (119) won by Tech fall, Adam Bruley (130) won by TechFall, Nate O’Sullivan (135) won by 12-4, Dustin Funk won by Pin (145), Alex Cornelius (152) won by pin, Ryan Wellings (160) won by pin, Ryan Nagy (171) won 3-1,  Brandon Helle (189) won by void, and Austin Sullivan (285) won by pin.

Up by just four with sharpshooter Reece Dils headed for the bench in foul trouble, Saline coach Eric Williams needed his secondary scorers to hold the fort.

They did more than that. They added a second story, as Saline defeated Adrian 63-44. The Hornets improved to 4-1 with a big home game against Ypsilanti Friday night.

Dils scored 18 points in just 21 minutes of work.

Saline's gymnastics team is strong outing away from qualifying for the regional tournament.

David Elms scored 21 points to lead Saline.


Saline's junior varsity girls' basketball team fell to Bedford at home Tuesday, 27-24.

Gillian Walter scored nine points to lead the Lady Hornets. Jordan Page added eight points.

Saline makes the national rankings once again.

The law requires the state to issue a journeyman plumbing license to an applicant who has met certain experience requirements while serving in the military.


Rosemelia's Frosty the Snowman has become a holiday parade favorite in recent years.

With no money in the budget, the SPD raised the money privately.
