The largest class of new teachers in recent memory was welcomed to Saline Area Schools this week.

Storms could be bring strong wind gusts, hail and heavy rain.

Samantha Kellstrom shot a 78 to lead the Lady Hornets at the Brighton Invitational at Oak Pointe Country Club Monday.

Saline was third among the 12 teams competing.Okemos won the tournament with a 343, Ann Arbor Pioneer was 2nd with 345 and Saline had a 348.

Casey Roell, Jake Cohen and Robb Smith scored for a Saline team that controlled play from start to finish.

Traditionally the parade has been held on Michigan Avenue. People seemed to like the convenience and intimacy of having the parade on the fair grounds.

Monday, 2013 Aug 26th

The freshman soccer team from Saline blanked Plymouth 4-0 Monday.

Matthew Kocicebelli scored twice and Jacob Herner and Andrew Ionta each scored once for the Hornets.

More than 60 volunteers helped Kelly Hall move the project toward completion. Donors can help complete the project by contributing to a sign in front of the Saline High School trail.

The annual parade takes place at the Washtenaw Farm Council Grounds at 6:30 p.m.

The Hornets have just three returning starters, but they've also got a year's worth of experience in coach Palka's system. The season starts Friday when Saline hosts AB Lucas, of London, Ontario.

serving Saline since 1999.

Saline lost the opener Friday and bounced back to win two of three games Saturday at Huron.

Saturday, 2013 Aug 24th

Saline' was undefeated in pool play before dropping a close match to East Kentwood and then rebounding with a victory over Bedford.

Tecumseh resident Terri Royal, who most recently worked for the City of Chelsea, will be welcomed to her new city clerk's post at a meet and greet Sept. 9.

Friday, 2013 Aug 23rd

Saline's water polo team fell 14-7 to Ohio Thomas Worthington at Pioneer Friday.

All-state senior Emily White shot a one-over-par 73 to take the medal for the second straight day.
