Saline was named best place in Michigan to raise a family by a national publication. How can that recognition to benefit the community.

The Friends of the Library have their monthly book sale Saturday.

This came in from the Washtenaw County Sheriff's Office, where law enforecement officials are mourning the death of K-9 Ziva, a police dog credited with helping in numerous investigations.

The Saline Area Players are gearing up for their big musical show this season.  Auditions for “Roald Dahl’s Willy Wonka”take place in a few weeks, and the audition workshop for kids is in one week.  The show promises to be lots of fun for those in the cast of all ages, the many people working behind the scenes, and those in the audience.  It is a new show for us and is one of the highlights of our 40th Anniversary Season.  Willy Wonkawill be directed by Tami Hindes with musical direction by Bob Cindric.


Power went out at 3. A DTE Energy official said he's not sure when it will be restored.

The Hornets survived shooting struggles and a surge by the Dexter Dreadnaughts in Friday’s 43-37 win at Eastern Michigan University’s Convocation Center.

Michael Hendrickson scored 11 points, Max Recknagel and Erik Jacobsen each scored 10 points and Caleb Luckett scored nine points for Saline. Recknagel also grabbed 12 rebounds for Saline.

Saline improved to 5-2. Dexter fell to 2-4.


The Lady Hornets couldn’t find their mark Friday in a 38-16 loss to Dexter at Eastern Michigan University’s Convocation Center.

The Hornets shot seven of 49 from the field against a Dexter team that was taller than Saline at every position.

The Hornets had trouble with the quick and tall Dreadnaughts.


The injured man was transported to University of Michigan Hospital by Survival Flight.
