The Saline Community Education Moonlight Madness Craft Show takes place from 5-11 p.m., Dec. 7 at Saline Middle School.

Student singers, dancers and musicians showed off their skills while helping kick off the Toys for Tots campaign.

City council meets at 6 p.m. for a work session on the Celtic Festival. The regular meeting begins at 7:30 p.m.


Sunday afternoon's show at Saline High School will help the fire department collect toys for 143 Saline area children.

Extrication tools were used to free a woman trapped in the vehicle for 30 minutes until a passerby saw the vehicle.

The parade starts at 5:30 p.m. Saturday in downtown Saline.


Parents are invited to learn about everything from new "Common Core" standards to ways to track kids' nutricion at a Saturday seminar presented by the Michigan PTA and Saline Area Schools.

The Parent/Family Engagement Seminar takes place at Saline Middle School from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

The Saline Area Players debuted the production of "The Best Christmas Pageant Ever" at Stone Arch Arts and Events Thursday.

The Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office is warning the public to be on the lookout for suspicious activity after numerous break-ins to motor vehicles and damage to mailboxes in the Yorkshire Woods subdivision in the early morning hours Nov. 30.

For the first time, the Saline Area Chamber of Commerce is awarding the "Santa Cup" to the business who builds the best float in the parade.


Open 9am-noon every Saturday (closed March 16) November-April at Liberty School, 7265 Saline Ann Arbor Road.

Winter tax bills are due at 5 p.m., Feb. 14.


The blaze forced six people from their downtown apartment late last night and some family members were treated for injuries.

The program, being supported by a $75,000 Foundation For Saline Area Schools fundraising campaign, will be implemented next year at Harvest, Woodland Meadows and Pleasant Ridge elementary schools.

Graden steered the district through four contract negotiations and the hiring of a new high school principal last year. The board hasn't determined if he'll receive a raise after taking a $12,000 pay cut in 2011.

Janet Miller was disappointed last year when she stood in line for the show but was turned away when the Saline Middle School auditorium reached capacity. She tried to buy tickets early this year, but not early enough. Tickets sold out within days of going on sale Oct. 1. Miller asked why the concert wasn't moved to a bigger venue.
