Tim Wagman shot 42 and was the Hornets' low scorer.

Tim Wageman was the low Hornet as Saline opened the SEC season  with two victories at Brookside Monday.

Saline shot 172 to defeat Monroe, 183, and Lincoln, 225.

It was Saline's only home match of the season.

Wageman shot 42. Jack Woods and Mason Ausmus each carded a 43. Josh Finn came in at 44. Grant Terris, 45, and Josh Hartmann, 46, also golfed for the varsity squad.

The golfers competed on a wet, muddy course.

"It was great for the guys to get a couple of wins. I know some of them wished they had played better but everyone is off to a bit of a slow start due to the weather. I have no doubt that the guys will keep getting better and better as we get some practice time in and some good weather," said Debbie Williams-Hoak, Saline's golf coach.
