Half of Saline Township Residents' Calls to Police Did Receive Police Response

The Saline Township Board took care of routine business in a meeting that lasted thirty minutes on Monday evening. The board asked the township hall manager to solicit one additional bid for replacement windows at the township hall. Quotes for the replacement windows, including both vinyl and fiberglass products, had estimated costs ranging between $12,000 - $15,000. 

Township Supervisor Jim Marion reported that the Washtenaw County Sheriff’s office reported a total of 45 calls for the month of April. The Michigan State Police responded to 17 calls, county sheriff’s deputies responded to six calls and 22 calls were handled without a police response.

Supervisor Marion reported that 48 properties changed owners in 2017.  These included:

  • 10 land sales
  • 17 home sales (highest home sold for $630,000)
  • 21 condo sales (sale prices ranged between a high of $200,000 and a low of $120,000)

The Saline Township Planning Commission did not meet in May but will meet on Tuesday, June 5, 2018 to discuss a special use permit request for a township property.  The next township board meeting is scheduled for Monday, June 11, 2018.
