Macon Road Bridge Closed After Inspection

 10/02/2017 - 09:12

The Washtenaw County RoadCommission will closed the Macon Road over the North Branch of Macon Creek, due to extensive structural deterioration on Monday, Oct. 2. The bridge is located between Braun Road and Willow Road in Section 22 of Saline Township. The recommended closure of this structure was determined during a recent bridge inspection.

The posted detour for this bridge closure will include Braun Road, Jordan Road and Willow Road. The road will be closed by using concrete barrier and barricades. A schedule to replace the bridge and reopen Macon Road at this location is undetermined at this time.

The Washtenaw County Road Commission thanks you in advance for your patience as the agency determines the best course of action to address this bridge closure.

History Mom's picture

Within the past few years, Washtenaw County has closed several rural roads because of  "needed bridge work", but there is never any plan or time line announced. In early December, they closed Gensley Road (Lodi Twp.) with cement barricades and "dead end" signs. There are no detour signs and no work being done. Delivery people complain to residential owners all the time.  Rural people pay taxes, too, but the county treats us like second class citizens.
