The Saline Township Board of Trustees approved the 2019-20 budget at their meeting Monday night. The 2019-20 budget totals $649,086, an increase of $41,505 over the 2018-19 budget. The board approved budget includes $125,000 and $80,000 for road and bridge repairs. The township went over budget by $13,044 for recycling services. Despite the increased recycling costs, the board kept funding for recycling services at $15,000 for the upcoming year..
The board announced that the township spring clean-up will be Saturday, May 18, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The Washtenaw County Road Commission (WCRC) will attend the April meeting to present the township with proposed schedule for township road repairs. Township residents are encouraged to inform the WCRC of any road concerns in advance of the meeting.
Jim Marion, Township Supervisor, said that the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ) will be hosting a Public Hearing and Open House session on the Andelina Farms wastewater plan from 5 to 9 p.m., Thursday, at Saline City Hall
The agenda includes:
5 p.m. – Open House – meet one on one with MDEQ Water Resources staff to ask questions, voice concerns, receive materials, etc.
6 p.m. – Welcome and Overview Presentation – MDEQ staff will provide a short presentation on the proposed new use permit, followed by question and answer session.
7 p.m. – Deadline to register to provide formal comment during the meeting
7 p.m. – Public Hearing begins
9 p.m. – Public Hearing Adjourns
