A rainy Sunday has spoiled this week's Oakwood Cemetery Enactment Tour. Fear not, local history lovers. The event has been rescheduled for next Sunday.

Tickets for the event are available online for $12 in advance (Click here).  Children 12 and under have free admission. Tickets are $18 at the event.

Guests will tour the cemetery and stop at gravestones where actors and volunteers will portray people interred at the city-owned cemetery.

The event is presented by Rotary Club of Saline and made possible by Robison-Bahnmiller Funeral Home.

Among those residents profiled this year are:

  • Dr. James Wallace and his wife Margaret. He was overseer of the cemetery.
  • Nancy Martin Morris, who had 10 children and was nominated as Michigan Mother of the Year in 1948.
  • Eliza Ball, who, with husband Thaddeus, gave hypnotism demonstrations at their home.
  • WM Henry Shaw, a Civil War soldier who went into the Nursing Corp.
  • Cornelius Parson, a successful business owner who still has family in the area.
