SALINE, MI. (09/05/2017) – Saline Main Street is pleased to announce it has given its first sign grant of 2017 to Mod Squad Salon in downtown Saline. The Saline Main Street sign grant is a competitive grant through the Saline Main Street Design Team that matches 50/50 funds up to $500.00. This grant supports new and updating business signage in downtown Saline. Saline Main Street has four available sign grant opportunities for 2017.

Renée Fonseca, owner of Mod Squad Salon stated that she “wanted to move downtown Saline to upgrade my brand and reinvent my business. Being a part of a Main Street is more in line with our people oriented business, with better visibility and opportunity for involvement in community events it has created more interest and a lot more walk-in traffic”. “With the cost of relocating and some unforeseen expenses of remodeling an old building, being awarded the sign grant from Saline Main Street was an awesome financial bonus! I'm honored to have received the very first one, I believe it's a positive sign for our new beginning and I hope other businesses may be inspired. Riley, and Saline Main Street have been so supportive and welcoming. This move has been all that I had hoped it would be, and we are excited and re-inspired to continue to grow our business in our new downtown location.”

The Saline Main Street design team reviewed the application at the July meeting and stated that it met all of the goals and requirements of the sign grant. “We were excited to see a business that wanted to be a part of downtown Saline and awarding this sign grant was a great way for us to support this great business as they transition into their new space downtown” stated Riley Hollenbaugh, Executive Director of Saline Main Street. “We hope that more businesses in downtown Saline use the sign grant opportunity through our organization to continue to improve the beautification of downtown Saline.”

Saline Main Street’s mission is to enhance the vitality of downtown as the social, cultural, economic, and historic heart of our community. If you would like more information about Saline Main Street please contact Riley Hollenbaugh, Executive Director, at (734) 717-7406 or email at
