Betty Jean Danneffel, age 92, passed away on Friday, March 15, 2019 in Saline.

She was born on June 4, 1926 in Grosse Pointe, the daughter of Herman N. and Marie (Burlingame) Bruce.

Betty was employed by the University of Michigan from January 1, 1960 to November 1, 1991, and was the Manager of Faculty and Staff Records for much of her career there. She was a member of the University of Michigan M Club, as an avid fan of all U of M sports; the Ann Arbor Civic Club; and was a member of the Kiwanis Club of Saline for many years, serving as Secretary from 1993 to 2008.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Arbor Hospice for their compassionate care they provided her. Survivors include her children Mary Beth (Robert) Mandelkorn, Betty Anne Armbruster, Sue Ellen (Thomas) Cowen, and George John (Debbie) Danneffel. Other survivors include her grandchildren Rachel Sophia Mandelkorn, Heath Robert (Neely McCarthy) Armbruster, Michelle Anne (Robert) Malek, Sarah Christina Jun (Will Schutt) Cowen, Tyler Christian Cowen, Tara Ann (Eric) Moler, Mandie Marie (Kevin Titus) Danneffel, Jason George (Taylor) Danneffel, and great-grandchildren Kayla Jean Moler, Brayden Blue Moler, Harper Anne Malek, Riley Marie Malek, and Ellia Rae Armbruster.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Herman J. Bruce.

Visitation will take place on Saturday, March 30, 2019 from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. at the Robison-Bahnmiller Funeral Home in Saline. A Memorial Service will follow and will be held at 1:00 P.M. Cremation has taken place and a family burial will take place in Oakwood Cemetery in Saline. A luncheon will follow the service and will be held at the Saline American Legion. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her name may be made to the Kiwanis Club of Saline or to the Salvation Army. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
