Claudia Galimberti, 75, Taught French, Directed Choir at St. Andrew, Helped Husband at Benny's Bakery

Claudia M. (Platt) Galimberti died peacefully on June 1, 2018 in Saline at the age of 75.

Claudia is survived by her husband, Benedetto “Benny” Galimberti; children, David (Peggy) Galimberti, Laurie (Phil) Siebigteroth, Jeremy (Jackie) Galimberti, and Jamie (Sarah) Galimberti; and grandchildren, Andy and Anjela Galimberti, and Rose and Jeffrey Siebigteroth.

She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings Shirley (Walter) and Ronnie. Claudia was born on January 13, 1943 in Detroit, MI to Edward and Phyllis (Bednarz) Platt.

She graduated from Eastern Michigan University with a degree in French, and later earned a second degree in Music. Claudia married Benny on August 8, 1964 at St. Clement’s Church in Centerline. Claudia was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, and was beloved for her tender heart and creative mind.

During her lifetime, Claudia taught French for the Clintondale school system and provided private piano and music lessons. She spoke several different languages and loved to paint, quilt, cook, write music, and play the piano.

Claudia was a longtime member, choir director, and catechism teacher at St. Andrew Catholic Church, and an original member of the Saline Area Players. She also enjoyed helping her husband with Benny’s Bakery of Saline.

Friends may join the family for a time of visitation on Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at the Robison-Bahnmiller Funeral Home from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. and again at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Saline on Wednesday from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. The funeral mass in celebration of her life is scheduled for Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Ele’s Place of Ann Arbor or to the Michigan Parkinson Foundation in Claudia’s name.
