John Spaide, World War II Veteran, Worked at Mast Shoes for More than 40 Years

John Edward Spaide passed away on Monday, July 30, 2018 at the age of 93. He was born on February 4, 1925 in Philadelphia, PA.

Jack is survived by his wife of over 72 years, Lois, and his three children: Joanne Spaide, Karen Larned and John W. Spaide. Grandfather to John F., Alexis, Cortland and Chadler. He was preceded in death by daughter Wendy Spaide.

Jack was a WWII Army Veteran. He was employed by Mast Shoes of Ann Arbor for 40 years. He was President of the Downtown Business Association in Ann Arbor for two years. Jack and Lois were long time members of the Ann Arbor Golf and Outing where Jack was an active golfer up into his eighties.

The family would like to acknowledge Tom Mast who over the years was like another son to him. We would also like to thank all the staff at Story Point in Saline for their kindness. Jack was an active member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Ann Arbor.

A Memorial Service will be held at St. Paul’s on Liberty in Ann Arbor, on Saturday, August 25, 2018 at 1:00 P.M.
