Kendall Rogers, 81, Was a Lifelong Farmer in York Township

Kendall Duane Rogers peacefully passed away in the comforts of his home on September 19, 2018 after a difficult battle with cancer.

He was surrounded by family and loved ones. He was 81 years old. Kendall was born on December 23, 1936 and was a lifelong Saline (York Township) resident and farmer.

He attended Saline Area Schools graduating in 1955, where he was a proud member of the FFA and Saline Steer Club. After high school he married Janet Mae Luckhardt on June 1956. They had three children Keith, Kathy and Kaye.

In 1956 he also joined the National Guard and served three years. Kendall was born, raised and continued to work on the family dairy farm until 1991 when he sold the dairy cows and began farming in the beef industry.

In August 1998 he married his second wife Nancy E. McNay and she survives. Kendall’s passions were his family, farming and American history.

Kendall is survived by his wife Nancy McNay-Rogers and his siblings Bill (Cora) Rogers and Elaine (Robert) Ewald. His daughters Kathy (Kyle) Koskinen and Kaye (Dennis) Kotlarczyk. Grandchildren Aaron (Emily) Rogers, LeAnn (Richard) McNutt, Kristen Kotlarczyk, Paula Koskinen and Karleen Koskinen. Great-Grandchildren Grace, Reese, Richie, Rex and Austin. Step-children Brian (Jennifer) McNay of New York and Kim (Mark) Smith of Florida. Step-Grandchildren Olivia, Ella, Avery and many nieces and nephews. Kendall is preceded in death by his parents Rueben Duane and Marjorie Rogers. His brother Ronald E. Rogers. His first wife Janet Luckhardt-Rogers and their son Keith Kendall Rogers and Great-Granddaughter Kylie Jo Rogers.

A memorial visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Saline from 4 to 8 pm.
