On Sunday, May 19, 2019, Louis Paul Hoeft, age 90, passed on.  Lou was born in Belleville, Michigan on April 15, 1929, the fifth son of William R. Hoeft and Bertha A. Kromrei Hoeft.  In June of 1977, he married Audrey Weingardt on the family farm in Saline Township.

He chose farming as a career.  Possessing great inner strength and patience he was able to triumph over life’s difficulties and live a satisfying life.  Lou treated his family and friends with respect and kindness and received their love in return.  He attended the York Baptist church for many years.

Lou is survived by brothers David Hoeft (Joyce) of Manchester, Daniel Hoeft and James (Cheryl) Hoeft of Saline, nineteen nieces and nephews and thirty-seven great nieces and nephews.  Lou was preceded in death by his loving wife, Audry, his parents and four brothers, Robert, Richard, Leslie and Douglas Hoeft, and niece Sherry Holmstead.  Honoring Lou’s wishes, cremation has taken place.  A family gathering will be held at a later date.  Special thanks to the staff at EMH Senior Solutions for their care and kindness shown during his residence. I have fought a good fight,
I have finished my course,
I have kept the faith.
