Theodore Charles Guenther, age 89, of Manchester, passed away peacefully at home, after a long illness on Wednesday, July 26, 2017.
He was born on December 25, 1927, the son of Herman and Ethel (Russell) Guenther.
Ted married Mildred Bihlmeyer on March 24, 1951; she survives him. Ted is also survived by his children: Thomas (Laura) Guenther, David (Penny) Guenther and Mark Guenther; grandchildren: Dustin (Natalie) Page, Ryan (Lee Marie) Guenther, Mirae Guenther, Alexander Guenther, and Alyse Guenther; great grandson Gunner Page. Ted is also survived by brother Victor (Kay) Guenther and sisters Marian (Richard) Saylor, Esther (Ralph) Gross, and Elizabeth (Donald) Sutherland, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by siblings Ellen Haeussler, Katherine Scherdt, William Guenther, Robert Guenther, and Louise Monroe. Ted loved woodworking, relaxing in his garden, fishing, playing cards, and most especially, his family. Ted worked for Bridgewater Lumber, managed Saline Mercantile Lumber, and retired from Fingerle Lumber in Ann Arbor.
Family will receive friends on Thursday, August 3, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and on Friday, August 4,, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Bethel United Church of Christ in Manchester. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, August 4, 2017 at Bethel United Church of Christ at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend David Bucholtz officiating. A private graveside service will take place at Bethel Church Cemetery.
