Navy Veteran Jeff Hess, 54, Loved Fireworks and Halloween

Jeff Hess, 54, passed away on Saturday, September 3, 2016 at his home in Saline.

Jeff was born on May 13, 1962, the son of David W. and Mary L. (Balmes) Hess.

During his life Jeff loved to go hunting, he loved the excitement of fireworks, and he loved Halloween and carving pumpkins with the kids. He also loved his dog Pugsley and cooking for other people. He worked at Xela Pack, Inc. in Bridgewater, for over 17 years. Jeff was a proud member of the United States Navy.

Survivors include his mother Mary L. Hess, brother David R. Hess, special niece Kaska Pugh, special friends Donna Johnston and Marian Faupel, many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncle, and cousins that loved him. Jeff was preceded in death by his father David W. Hess on December 6, 1991.

A Celebration of Life Service will take place on Saturday, October 1, 2016 at 12 noon at the First United Methodist Church of Saline with Pastor Tom Zimmerman officiating. Military Honors will be held under the auspices of the Washtenaw County Veterans Honor Guard. Burial will take place in the Oakwood Cemetery Mausoleum at a later date.

The family has requested that no flowers be delivered. Memorial contributions in Jeff’s name may be made to Stiggy’s Dogs (An organization that rescues and trains shelter dogs to be psychiatric service dogs for military veterans living with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder), The Humane Society of Huron Valley, or to a charity of your choice. Envelopes will be available at the church where friends may begin calling on Saturday, October 1, 2016 from 9:30 A.M. until the time of service at 12:00 Noon. A luncheon at the church will follow the service. Arrangements entrusted to the Robison-Bahnmiller Funeral Home in Saline.
