Boyd “Ray” R. Pace, age 78, passed away on Friday, January 26, 2018 at his home.

Ray was born April 14, 1939 in Saluda, North Carolina, the son of David and Myrtle (Richards) Pace. On January 2, 1987 he married Barbara (Rutkowski) Pace and she survives. 

Ray was the first to step in when someone needed help.  He worked hard all his life at many different jobs including "moonshine lookout boy" & professional racehorse exercise boy, traveling the circuit until he landed in Michigan. He also loved to entertain & was known for his weekend pig roasts. He and Barbara loved to dance. The most important thing in his life was his family. Ray owned and operated Water Softener Hospital in Saline with his wife for over 20 years.

Survivors in addition to his wife Barbara include daughters Tamera (David) Deutsch, Traci Pace, sons Bill Marler, Matt (Roxanne) Sprunk, Grandchildren Shane Marler, Cortney Marler, Jozef Sprunk, and his sister Mary McAbee.

A Memorial Service will take place on Saturday, February 3, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. at the Robison-Bahnmiller Funeral Home in Saline, with Pastor Ray Maurer officiating. Visitation will take place from 12:00 Noon until the time of service at 2:00 P.M. Memorial contributions in his name may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association and envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
