Lany Carlos Beckington of Hillman, MI, formerly a longtime resident of Saline, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 18, 2017 at 79 years of age.
Lany was born on December 29, 1937 in Ypsilanti, the son of the late Carlos Lane and Catherine (nee Maxwell) Beckington. Loving father of Lori Beckington, Heidi Ashtari, Jeff Beckington, and David (Katie) Beckington. Dear grandfather of Ashley McKeen, Aaron Steele, Alex Steele, Jahleh Hooper, Zayd Beckington, Raaya Beckington, Madison Beckington, Mackenzie Beckington and Cooper Beckington. Caring brother of the late Carol Marie Entriken, Delia Ann Gunnels, Donna Edna LaMonde, Rita Lynn (Jim) Whitaker and Anita Louise Judson (Lon Barnett). Also survived by his partner of 25 years Pam Losee, many nieces and nephews, and many many friends.
Lany worked as a machinist and owned Precision Fabricating in Saline and then Ann Arbor; he has been retired for about 15 years. He loved helping others, the outdoors, fixing things in his machine shop, hunting and fishing but most of all he loved being an uncle and grandpa and he loved his family. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, July 22, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at the Robison-Bahnmiller Funeral Home in Saline. Friends may join the family for a visitation at the funeral home on Friday, July 21, 2017 from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. and again on Saturday before the funeral from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service at 11:00 A.M. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in his name may be made to Pheasants Forever Washtenaw County Chapter #151.
