Police arrested a 24-year-old Saline man on a domestic violence charge after an incident at Six Trails Apartments early in the morning Sept. 27.
According to a 24-year-old woman, her boyfriend came home around 12:45 a.m. and asked for her credit card. When she denied him the card, he climbed on top of her while she was on her back, straddling her chest with his knees pinning her shoulders. The woman told police she has claustrophobia and that her boyfriend knew it. She said she suffered a panic attack as a result of the altercation.
Police dispatchers could hear the woman saying “get off me” and “let me go” during the 911 call.
The man denied any physical altercation to police.
He was arrested and transported to the Washtenaw County Jail. The Washteanw County Prosecutor’s Office authorized a misdemeanor domestic violence complaint against the man.
Laptop Stolen From Vehicle
A 37-year-old Clark Street woman called police after someone stole an HP Laptop from her 2015 Ford Escape that was parked in the parking lot at Maple Village Town Houses on the 300 block of Clark Street.
The HP Probook 430 GD Notebook Laptop is worth about $1,100. It was taken overnight Sept. 21-22.
Solicitor Arrested on Warrent, Driving With Suspended License
A 22-year-old Detroit woman was cited for driving with a suspended license and two warrants out of Rumulus.
Police were dispatched to Crestwood Circle Sept. 27 for a report of a solicitor. Police found a white van, with a “Farm Fresh Meat” sign on it. Police stopped the vehicle for a malfunctioning brake light.
A records check showed the driver had five current license suspensions. The 55-year-old passenger was wanted on several warrants out of Arkansas.
The driver was arrested and released at Romulus Police Department’s request. The van was impounded and turned over to America One Towing.
