Fire Causes $100,000 Damage at Unoccupied Pittsfield Township Home

Fire caused about $100,000 in damage at an unoccupied home at 5875 W. Michigan Ave. in Pittsfield Township early in the morning Feb. 27.

Pittsfield Township firefighters were dispatched to the fire at 3:25 a.m. First arriving crews found a working fire in a single story home. Heavy fire was found in the attic. Firefighters searched the structure to confirm there were no occupants inside.

Firefighters had the fire controlled in 20 minutes.

Saline Area Fire Department and Huron Valley Ambulance assisted.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
