Man and Dog Injured as Van Crashes into Tree

A man and his dog were injured when the van he was driving when off the road and struck a tree along the 1500 block of Bishop Road in York Township Monday morning.

The incident occurred around 7:50 a.m.

The man was in stable condition was he was transported by Huron Valley Ambulance to the University of Michigan Hospital emergency room, according to HVA spokesperson Matt Rose.

Firefighters found an injured dog lying underneath things that had been tossed around in the back of the van, according to Saline Fire Chief Craig Hoeft. They contacted animal services who brought the dog to a veterinarian for treatment.

The Saline Post has called Michigan State Police seeking details about the cause of the crash.
