In the collision, the Arreguins were ejected from their motorcycle. They were pronounced dead at the scene.

Mlive reported that Spencer admitted to smoking marijuana on the morning of the crash, but that Judge David Schwartz said there were no tests available to determine how intoxicated was at the time of the crash.
