Michael Mullenix, a 50-year-old father of two Saline High School graduates, died after the motorcycle he was driving was struck by a vehicle around 2 p.m., Tuesday.
Pittsfield Township Police have not yet released information about the incident to The Saline Post.
Emergency workers at the scene said Mullenix was eastbound on Textile Road when his motorcycle was struck nearly head-on by a westbound vehicle that was attempting to turn south on to Woodland Drive, near the Rec Center. Huron Valley Ambulance transported Mullenix to University of Michigan Hospital in critical condition. He died hours later.
The driver of the other vehicle was not injured.
Textile Road and part of Woodland Drive was closed as officers from Pittsfield Township investigated the incident.
Mullenix was vice president of research and development for Enzo Life Schiences. He is survived by his wife Carolyn and their daughters Cassie and Claire.
