Police are looking for a hit-and-run driver after a three-vehicle crash on Michigan Avenue in the City of Saline Wednesday afternoon. A one-week old baby was unhurt in the crash, which occurred just before 3:30 p.m.

According to Saline Police Department Sgt. Jay Basso, a vehicle exited the east drive of Faurecia’s main employee parking lot, traveling at a high rate of speed.

“It collided with a Dodge Journey, bounced off that vehicle and then hit a west-bound vehicle that was stopped in the turn lane, waiting to turn into The Oaks shopping plaza,” Basso said.

The Dodge Journey carried a mother and her week-old girl. They were not injured, Basso said.

“We were fortunate. Huron Valley Ambulance and Saline Area Fire Department arrived and conducted evaluations. The baby is fine. There were no other injuries,” Basso said.

As Basso investigated at the scene Officer Mike Snook searched the area for the suspect. At the moment, police have very little information about the suspect. The suspect vehicle was described as multi-colored – blue, green and white. The driver was described as a male wearing a doo-rag.

Police hope to glean clues about the suspect from surveillance camera video at a nearby business.
