Jacob Rauguth, shown collecting his diploma during 2015 Saline High School Commencement ceremonies, was killed in a crash in York Township Sunday.

Police have identified Jacob Robert Rauguth, 19, of Pittsfield Township, as the victim of the fatal crash in York Township Sunday.

Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office deputies say Rauguth was driving a car east on Bemis Road when a speeding Mercury Mountaineer, southbound on Moon Road, ran the stop sign and broadsided the driver's side of Rauguth’s vehicle.

Sgt. David Archer said police believe alcohol was a factor in the crash. Police said the driver of the Mountaineer was in custody. His name has not been released.

Rauguth graduated with the Saline High School class of 2015. He attended Washtenaw County Community College and has worked for several years at Brecon Village in Saline.

Two other Saline-area residents were also Rauguth’s vehicle. Molly O’Sullivan and Ethan Suydam were also transported to the hospital. O’Sullivan suffered broken bones, a deep gash on her head, and other bruises and scrapes but said she’ll be fine. The Saline Post learned Suydam was scheduled to be released from hospital to his family either today or tomorrow.

O’Sullivan and Suydam, both Saline High School graduates, also worked at Brecon Village.
