A 21-year-old Adrian woman was arrested early Monday morning for alleged drunk driving.
Police were running radar on west Michigan Avenue around 2 a.m. when the officer saw a 2015 Chrysler 200 use the center turn lane to pass a semi-truck. Police followed the car, noting the driver was weaving in her lane and traveling at nearly 70 mph. Following field sobriety tests and a preliminary breath test that showed a blood alcohol content of .143, above the legal driving limit of .08, police arrested the woman.
Tools Stolen from Old Creek Drive
A resident of the 400 block of Old Creek Drive called police to report someone stole tools from a trailer parked in his driveway. He reported the theft of a Lennox 18-piece hole saw set and two Dewalt cordless drills. The thefts occurred between midnight and 6 a.m., Dec. 3. The man’s trailer was not locked.
Driver Flees Police
Police are seeking charges against an Ypsilanti woman suspected of fleeing police pursuit Nov. 22
On Nov. 22, around 2:30 p.m., police were parked along Michigan Avenue near Maple Road looking for people texting while driving when they saw a black Jeep that sounded like it was dragging something. Police ran the plate, which was expired. Police followed the Jeep and noticed it straddling two lanes. Police activated emergency lights near Ann Arbor Street, where the Jeep was stopped for a red light. The Jeep made a U-turn and headed east on Michigan Ave. Police continued pursuit and activated the siren. The vehicle turned north on Maple Road at a high rate of speed. Police ended the pursuit north of Clark Street.
Police were able to identify the driver as a 26-year-old Ypsilanti woman.
