Saline police have tied another larceny from a vehicle to two Milan men arrested for allegedly breaking into vehicles and garages early in the morning March 15.
Seth Jacob Cartwright, 18, was arraigned before Washtenaw County District Court Judge Cedric Simpson March 16 on the felony charge of carrying a concealed weapon. The probable cause conference was scheduled for March 27. Kenneth Westley Moore, 17, was arraigned before in front of the same judge March 16 on the charge of receiving and concealing stolen property, less than $200. His pre-trial hearing is scheduled for May 1.
While following up on property recovered from one of the suspect’s vehicles, police found items belonging to a Whitmore Lake man. The items were stolen from his vehicle while it was parked on Clark Street. The man told police he didn’t report the theft because he felt it was his fault for failing to lock his doors.
Officers from the Saline Police Department were dispatched early in the morning to the southeast part of town, near Eastlook Drive, after a woman and her husband looked out their window and saw two men on bicycles riding up to vehicles and checking door handles. Sgt. Jay Basso found two males on bicycles turning onto Forestbrook Ct. He then found the bicycles on a front lawn on Forestbrook. As Sgt. Basso and Officer John Belknap searched the area, Officer Jeff Flynn spotted an SUV pulling off Springbrook Court, so he checked on the subjects in the vehicle.
Sgt. Basso found a gun while searching the vehicle. The gun was reported stolen out of Monroe County.
