The prosecutor’s office has authorized a complaint against a 19-year-old Saline man accused of walking into the Domino’s Pizza restaurant and punching an employee in the face several times.
The alleged incident occurred in the afternoon Sept. 18.
The victim, a 20-year-old Saline man, told Saline Police he was at his station making a pizza when a 19-year-old Saline woman took a picture of him and posted it to Snapchat, a social media platform, with the message, “Make me my food *****.”
Shortly after she posted the picture the woman’s boyfriend arrived at the restaurant, came around the counter to the employee's work area and began to punch him in the head. The victim said they stumbled into the lobby and crashed into a cooler containing pop.
Police reported swelling and discoloration under the victim’s eye, dried blood in his nostrils and on his upper lip, and a lump behind his ear. They called for medical personnel, but the victim refused treatment.
A Domino’s Pizza co-worker corroborated the victim’s statement.
The alleged assailment told police he had been fighting with his girlfriend earlier in the day. He was driving to his dad’s house when he saw the Snapchat post. His version of the alleged assault differed little from the victim’s.
He told police that he’d known the victim since moving to Saline in fourth grade.
The prosecutor’s office authorized a misdemeanor complaint for assault and battery, which carries a sentence of up to 93 days in jail and a $500 fine.
