Saline Police Reports: Cars Damaged, Man Arrested for Disorderly Conduct

Two employees of JAC Products called police to report someone scratched their vehicles Feb. 27.

A 42-year-old Ypsilanti woman said her Chevrolet Cruze was parked in the south lot at JAC Products. The woman reported four or five scratches on the passenger side of her vehicle. The woman told police she has no known enemies and had no idea who might be responsible.

A 55-year-old Ypsilanti man told police his Kia Forte was parked in the east lot when it was damaged. His vehicle had circular scratches to the right rear corner panel. He, too, said he had no idea who might be responsible.

There are no cameras covering the parking lot.

Teens Found in Apartment That Smelled Like Marijuana

Saline Police spoke with an 18-year-old resident of Six Trails Apartments after being called to an apartment that smelled like marijuana.

Police were called around 8:20 p.m., Feb. 24, by a neighbor who smelled marijuana. When they arrived, police knocked on the door and were granted entry into the apartment.

They found three minors, ages 14-16, from Belleville and Ypsilanti. Police also detected the smell of marijuana. The teens denied using the drug and police found no evidence of marijuana or related paraphernalia.

The teen were there visiting their friend, who was out shopping with her sister, an 18-year-old resident of the apartment, when police arrived.

Police spoke to the woman by phone and advised her of marijuana laws and delinquency laws.  Police contacted parents of the minors present. Two of them requested the children be brought back to the Saline Police Department where they waited to be picked up.

Man Arrested for Disorderly Conduct

Police arrested 23-year-old Saline Township man for disorderly conduct early Feb. 19. Police were dispatched to Ann Arbor and Bennett Streets at 2:48 a.m. for reports of a man sitting on the ground yelling. Police determined the man was intoxicated and called Huron Valley Ambulance for a medical evaluation. The man became belligerent with medical technicians during the evaluation and was arrested.
