SPD: Sex Tape Rumor Leads to Brawl, Police Confiscate Rice Krispie Treats

 07/11/2017 - 19:56

An employee at Jac Products in Saline contacted police after she got into a “brawl” with another coworker at the plant.

A 29-year-old Ypsilanti woman told police she was punching out on July 5 when she was confronted by her co-worker, a 23-year-old from Ypsilanti.

The younger woman allegedly asked the older woman if she was the source of a rumor that the younger woman and a male co-worker were making a sex video. The older woman denied that she was not spreading the rumor and then refused to tell the woman who was spreading the rumor.

On July 6, around 9:30 p.m., the older woman was walking between two presses at Jac Products when the other woman came up and pushed her. The two women began to “brawl,” punching and hitting each other repeatedly until other workers ended the skirmish.

The woman told police she wasn’t pressing charges at this time but wanted the incident documented.

Police Confiscate Rice Krispie Treats

Police confiscated what they believe were three marijuana-filled Rice Krispie Treats from a man residing at the apartments on the 200 block of Clark Street. A woman contacted police to tell them the 22-year-old man had posted the marijuana for sale on Facebook.

Police logged on to Facebook and saw the man advertising Rice Krispie Treats and Fruity Pebbles treats for $6, although  there was nothing on the post indicating the food was laced with marijuana or any other drug. Police visited the man and told him if he gave them the treats, they would be destroyed and no charges would result.

The man gave police the three remaining treats, which were logged into evidence for destruction.
