A tow truck driver was killed on I-94 near State Street Tuesday morning.
Troopers from Michigan State Police responded to the crash around 10:20 a.m. after an SUV struck a school bus that was stopped on the side of the road with engine trouble. There were no passengers on the bus. The SUV carried two adults and three children.
The tow truck driver was assisting the bus driver when the bus was struck by the SUV. He was killed as a result of the collision.
The five people in the SUV were transported to area hospitals and were in critical condition late this morning.
Michigan State Police continue to investigate.
