SALINE, MI (August 7, 2019) Having been raised on circus music and doo-wop, Matt Jones and his ragtime band, the Reconstruction boast a ton of mad musical tricks up their sleeves. This week they are sure to inspire a fun, groovy new-old-school vibe at Salty Summer Sounds Thursday night, August 8th!
Ypsi songwriter Matt Jones unleashes an historic tone in his writing. He explores the things that we can't get away from – sins of the past, icons, relics – those things and decisions that were made before our time. The songwriting is a reconstruction of perspective, and one that remains important even in modern times.
The band is made up of seven members, all who bring something new to the table. Front man Jones writes songs, plays guitar and sings. Others on vocals are fiddler, Carol Gray and tambourine player, Misty Lyn. Serge VanDerVoo plays bass, Mary Fraser plays drums, Davey Jones plays banjo and Colette Alexander plays cello.
Salty Summer Sounds is a live music street festival that takes place Thursday nights from June through August, 7 to 9PM in the middle of Ann Arbor Street in the heart of Downtown Saline. Folks are invited to take advantage of sidewalk seating, dining and quality local shopping throughout the downtown. There is always something for everyone in our beautiful boutiques and shops open till 9 on Thursday night!
