It doesn't look like much now, but this patch of dirt will soon be a playground for the new Pooh Corner at Liberty School.

About 250 people are working feverishly to complete construction projects before school starts at Saline Area Schools.

Rex Clary, Director of Facilities Saline Area Schools, said he's confident the work remains on schedule. Still, it's hard not to notice the deep breath he takes before answering the question.

"I feel good about the middle school being done by Aug. 28, with no issues. Liberty, they’ve made a lot of headway since last week. 95 percent of the ceiling is in. We have carpet in the administration area. All the mechanicals are in. We’re trending in the right direction," Clary said.

He admits that finishing by Aug. 28 will be a bigger challenge at Liberty.

“But every day you can see progress,” he said. “When you see the painters in, you can’t be far.”
