Superintendent Scot Graden is recommending the Saline Board of Education hire Molly Garcia as Director of Student Services. Garcia has been offered the job, pending approval by board.

Garcia currently holds the same title in Romulus.

She was one of three finalists interviewed for the job during a public forum two weeks ago.

The board will consider Graden’s recommendation at a special board meeting at 5 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 12, in the media center at Liberty School.

One of the main purposes of the position is to manage the district’s special education program. Kevin Musson had that job before becoming principal at Pleasant Ridge Elementary School.

The district will provide more updates on its transition plan later this week, according to an email sent out to staff by Curt Ellis, Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources.

The district must also hire an assistant principal at Saline High School after Marie Schluter announced her resignation last week.
