Test drive a new Ford from Briarwood Ford Saturday at Harvest Elementary School and you can help raise up to $8,000 for Saline Area Schools music programs.

The annual Drive 4 UR School test drive event is the Saline Music Boosters’ most lucrative fundraiser. The organization helps fund trips, musical lessons, guest conductors, transportation to festivals, and camp scholarships, in an effort to support the highest level quality of music development of Saline’s students.

The test drive event takes place at Harvest Elementary School from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday.

Steve Whitener, owner of Briarwood Ford, has been a devoted supported of Saline’s music programs. He said Briarwood Ford will represent its new vehicle lineup with about 15 vehicles, including the all-new Ford Ranger and multiple Ford Edges. Ford Motor Company will donate $20 for each test drive. Supporters can raise an additional $10 by taking a second test drive with the Ford Edge. (There’s a maximum donation of $30 per household).

Briarwood Ford sales staff will be on hand to answer questions – but this is a no-pressure test drive event.

Whitener and his staff are always happy to get people behind the wheel of a new Ford vehicle. And the Whitener family is always willing to support Saline Area Schools musical education.

“My wife Sue and I both have degrees in music and Sue still actively performs in several musical groups. Both of our sons were involved in the music program at Saline High School,” Whitener said.
