A group of Saline Area Girl Scouts sit in the front row at a Saline Area Schools forum on a proposal to move the start of school up before Labor Day.

About 80 people attended a forum to voice their thoughts and learn more about a Saline Area Schools proposal to move the start of school before Labor Day.

Superintendent Scot Graden presented the pros and cons of maintaining the status quo or starting early. After a 20-25 minute presentation, he fielded questions from the audience.

The Saline Area Schools Board of Education is expected to discuss the idea at Tuesday's meeting. The board could make its decision at the Jan. 23 meeting.
