Logan Evans throws a pitch in the first inning for Saline.

First came the lightning. Then came the rain. And then they called the whole thing off until Monday.

Saline and Lincoln were in the bottom of the first inning of the district semifinal at Saline High School Saturday when an umpire spotted a flash of lightning and suspended action for 30 minutes. The game never did resume.

According the Saline Athletics Department, the tournament resumes at 1 p.m., Monday.

The game was scoreless.

Lincoln loaded the bases with no out in the top of the first. Senior Logan Evans pitched his way out of trouble, striking out the cleanup hitter and then inducing the next batter into a 1-6-3 double play.

Play was called with one out and nobody on base in the bottom of the first. Huron defeated Pioneer, 5-4, in the other semifinal.
