Basketball: Saline Earns Comeback Win at Bedford

Saline stormed back from an early deficit to defeat Bedford, 48-42, in varsity girls basketball action at Bedford High School Friday.

The Hornets were down 15-6 after the first quarter, 25-21, at halftime and 37-35 after three quarters.

Coach Leigh Ann Roehm said that Nicole Sweetland's three first-half three pointers helped Saline get back in the game.

"After halftime, the team played inspired and united for a comeback. The bench was a true sixth man," Roehm said. 

Five different players hit three-pointers in the second half.

Ella Stemmer led the offense with 15 points, 10 rebounds and two assists. Sweetland finished with 12 points and five rebounds. Asia Lindsey added five points, two rebounds, two steals and two assists. Maddy Welch finished with five points and six rebounds.

Brooke Bauer grabbed six rebounds and had five points. Erin Reilly grabbed five rebounds and three points. Emily Eitzman and Liz Sekerak each scored three points.
