BASKETBALL: Saline Loses Tough Game at Plymouth

Freshman Ella Stemmer paced Saline with 15 points.

Ella Stemmer scored 15 points and Brooke Bauer added 13 points, but it wasn’t enough to keep Saline from falling, 52-47, on the road against Plymouth Friday.

The Hornets led 26-22 at halftime but struggled in a third quarter. Plymouth outscored Saline 18-8 in the third quarter.

Maddy Welch scored eight points for the Hornets, who played without senior Asia Lindsey.

Nicole Sweetland, 4, Liz Sekerak, 3, Kelsey Alexander, 2, and Leeya Lawson, 2, also scored.

Saline fell to 1-3.

The Hornets host Ypsilanti at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
