Sophomore Amera Boyd scored 21 points as Saline defeated Pioneer 47-13 in junior varsity girls basketball action Friday at Saline High School.
Boyd hit three three-pointers and scored seven points in each of the first three quarters.
Saline led 10-2 after the first quarter. Boyd and Sydney Gresser each had a three-pointer for Saline. In the second quarter, Saline outscored Pioneer 13-3. Steffi Bentley scored four points for Saline and Ashtyn Mosigno added a basket to Boyd's seven points.
In the third quarter Sophie Goethals made a basket, Gresser added two points from the stripe and Boyd scored seven more.
Regina Duerst scored five points to lead Saline in the fourth - including a three-pointer at the buzzer. Isabelle Stephenson had three points. Mosingo and Emma Warner each scored a pair of points and Codi McPeek scored a point.
