Gallery: Meehan Leads Saline XC at A2 Running Co Early Bird

Saline senior Connor Meehan opened the season by placing third as the Hornets ran in the Ann Arbor Running Co. Saline Hornet Early Bird Thursday afternoon at Huron Meadows Metropark.

Meehan ran the 5K race in 16:42.53. East Lansing’s Evan Meyer won the 347-person race in 16:14.

Saline junior Joshua Cook was sixth in 16:49.41. Junior Aidan Delfuoco was 10th in 16:55.06. Junior Neil Garg rounded  finished 18th in 17:21.9, just a few seconds ahead of junior Derek Liemohn, who was 19th in 17:24.73. Simon Pfeiffer also finished in the top 25. He was 21st in 17:35.

Ann Arbor Running Company 3 Stars

  1. Connor Meehan – The senior captain came out strong and then faded a little bit before storming back to take third and leading the Hornet contingent over the finish line.
  2. Joshua Cook – The junior had never finished faster than 17:33 until Thursday’s race, when he finished in 16:49.5.
  3. Aidan Delfuoco – The junior set a personal best, beating last year’s mark by nearly four seconds.
