GOLF: Saline Boys Win First Invitational in 3 Years

The Saline varsity boys’ golf team won the Tecumseh Invitational Friday, shooting a season-low 325. It was Saline’s first invitational victory in three years.

Saline and Pickney finished tied for first at 325, but Saline’s fifth man, Josh Finn, won the tie-breaker with a better score than Pickney’s fifth man.

Josh Brinks and Tim Wageman were the low-scorers for Saline, each turning in a scorecard of 80. They tied for second. Brinks’ round included an eagle and nearly a double-eagle. Jack Woods finished third with an 81 and Grant Terris was sixth with an 84.

The varsity “b” team also competed. Luke Kellersohn led the team by shooting 89. Aidan Bunting, 92, Tobias Schmidt, 95, Matt Brown, 99, and Ethan Shell, 102, also golfted.
