HOCKEY: Dejanovich Pots Hat Trick as Saline Downs Monroe, 7-1

Logan Dejanovich scored his second hat trick of the season as Saline defeated Monroe 7-1 Tuesday night.

Dejanovich’s three-goal game helped Saline improve to 14-5-1. Cameron Crawford stopped 11 of 12 shots for Saline.

Dallas Klaassen opened the scoring with 11:49 to play in the first. A little more than a minute later, Brendan Murphy set up fellow blueliner Eric Wesche for the goal. Dejanovich scored his first goal of the game with 2:40 to play in the first period.

Early in the second period, Dejanovich scored from Murphy and Alex Birkle. Then Dejanovich set up Gordie Niethammer’s goal making it 5-0. Monroe scored its lone marker in the second period. Saline led 5-1 and was outshooting Monroe 26-6 after two periods.

Wesche and Murphy set up Dejanovich’s third goal with two minutes to play. Zach Harrison scored to complete the scoring.
