Hornets Win Medals at Rowing Championships

Several Hornets took home medals from the Scholastic Rowing Association of Michigan Championship Regatta held May 18 at Riverside Park in Grand Rapids.

Zeke Dingman took silver in the men’s varsity 1x. He about four seconds behind the winner from Northville.

Chris Hays, William Ashton, Jack Getty, Jonathan Nowicki, Spencer Siefker, Andrew Smole, Harrison Orwig, Brenden Cox  and Williams Wisner took silver in the men’s varsity 8+.

Saline won bronze in the men’s lightweight 8+ in 4:51.44. Rowing were Stuart Penny, Spencer Siefker, Zeke Dingman, Brenden Cox, Bryce Drobnick, Andrew Smole, Nathan Holloway, Owen Durflinger and William Wisner.

On the girls’ side, Karlen Diss won bronze in the women’s varsity 1x. Katrina Johnson and Karolina Burtell won silver in the women’s varsity 2x – just 1.45 seconds behind the winners from Northview.

The team of Olivia Cook, Kasia Burtell, Makenzie Roehner, Jessica Greubal and Claire Krasko were fourth in the freshman 4+. Olivia McPherson and Katrina Johnson placed fourth in the women’s varsity 2.
