Loftus Leads Hornets to 2nd Place Finish at Pioneer Invitational

Saline High School Junior Catherine Loftus shot a 77 to help boost the Lady Hornets to a second place finish at the Pioneer Invitational held on Sept. 15 at Lake Forest Golf Course in Ann Arbor.  Rounding out the team scores were Junior Sydney Page (80), Junior Molly Pribble (84), Junior Stephanie Schick (85), and Senior Marge Wood (99).  Saline scored 326 losing to Saint Ursula (Ohio) who scored 317.  Other local teams competed as well:  Skyline 388, Pioneer 372, Northville 392, Brighton 351, Midland Dow 327.  Twelve teams competed in the event.

The varsity golfers remain undefeated in SEC play.  They have two remaining SEC matches against Bedford and Monroe in the coming week. There are several tournaments remaining before Conference Championship, Regionals, and the Division 1 State Finals.  

The Lady Hornets will compete at the Gross Ile Invitational on Saturday.  The Saline Hornets are coached by Debbie Williams-Hoak.
