The Saline Police Department is asking for the public's help in identifying four individuals they believe were involved in a car theft that led to a short-lived high-speed pursuit early in the morning Dec. 3.

Anyone recognizing people in the photo above is asked to call Saline Police Detective Michael King at 429-7911 or provide anonymous tips at 1-800=SPEAKUP. Tips can also be submitted at 1800speakup.org.

Around 1:45 a.m., a resident of the 900 block of Watson Road was awoken by a loud muffler. The woman looked out to the street and saw a Ford Freestar minivan and then watched people enter her son's vehicle and drive away. She called 911.

Saline police patrolling the area spotted the stolen vehicle and the minivan at the Speedway at Michigan Avenue and Harris. The minivan took off in one direction. The stolen vehicle headed west on Michigan. Police began following the vehicle but gave up the pursuit when the vehicle began moving at a high rate of speed.

Police from another agency found the vehicle not far from where the Saline Police pursuit ended. Police have processed the vehicle for fingerprints and DNA.
