Saline Stingerz Win Adrian Softball Tournament

The Saline Stingerz softball team is pictured after winning their softball tournament in Adrian.

It was a big day Saturday for the Saline Stingerz Travel Softball team!

Saline Stingerz 10U defeated the Northville Bronco's, 17-7 in a back-and-forth affair for the 1st place win in the Adrian Tournament Championship game. The game was tied at seven with Stingerz 10U batting when their bats lit up in the top of the 8th.

Lily Evans got things started when she singled off of Northville driving in one run and the hits kept coming, and Saline scored 9 more runs!

Stingerz 10U Travel had 21 hits in the game with each girl having at least one hit in the game. Leila Daniels, Sydney Hastings, Tierra (T-Dog) Ronayne, Delaney Lee, Olivia Buege, and Lily Evans each collected multiple hits for Stingerz 10U. Amelia DeCook Izzy DeVeau, Karli Dorr,and Ashely Malinczak also had a hit in the game. Lily Evans, Olivia Buege, Elizabeth Thibeault, Karli Dorr, Leila Daniels and Sydney Hastings each drove in two runs to lead Stingerz 10U 17-7 in the top of the 8th inning. The Stingerz shut Northville down in the bottom of the 8th for the win!

The Saline Stingerz Travel Softball team defended flawlessly all game with no fielding errors and two outstanding pitchers, Tierra (T-Dog) Ronayne and Karli Dorr only giving up 9 hits, 7 runs, with 8 strikeouts in 8 innings.

The Saline Stingerz have had an amazing season thus far. Taking 1st place in the Adrian Tournament, 2nd place in the Rochester, Frankenmuth, and Milan Tournaments. They are currently leading their division in the Western Wayne League with no losses.

Their final tournament will be played in Sandusky, OH in the Round Tripper tournament played at the Cedar Point Sports Force Complex July 21-23.
